You gotta be real carefull with that stuff. It will dull and streak the paint underneath.

Just my two cents, but I've used Easy Off to remove "art work" from two of my cars and had no problems whatsoever. Of course, you need to be careful with what you are doing as Easy Off is caustic. Don't let it sit on the paint too long before you remove it. And remember to wear rubber gloves as this stuff will do wonders with your finger nails! They will be so black you will be able to fit right in with the vampire crowd.

Glad to see this hint come back up as it is a fairly safe and inexpensive way to remove unwanted "art" from your car.

If you have an Earl Scheib or Econo bake type paint job it will eat right into that and strip it off clean too. Try a small test area someplace that doersn't show before you foam up the whole side of your car. I use east off to degrease and clean engine bays and wiring harnesses of paint too.

  5. Boy does that look better! good tip!

Flathead V8 the original Hemi? WTF? it's one thing to think something stupid, but to letter it on a car? Wow!

Guys- I did screw up in a couple of areas, but for most part it is terrific!

In one section of the car - I messed up by not leaving it on and letting chemical do the work , and used a rubber squeegie type s****er to s****e off the peeling paint. This did dull the paint.

That stuff had to go I agree, I'm not sure I would have believed the outcome or had the nerve to try it. Seems like timing is the trick. Sure looks a lot better!

  9. Looks good but run a light buffer over it to force some oil back into the paint. Wax it up and you should be good...

Lookin good, now the next step is to take the 80's wheels and the balance of the 80's striping around the door handle and roof line off.

Even so, it will still look better than what he started with. 100% improvement.

What every spins your wheels as far as white walls but if it were me I'd be looking for some old adds for that model of Ford on the net to see what they had on them new. Unless you are shooting for a different time period of course.

Quite an improvement already and that is a nice shade of blue on that body style.

Now that you've got that nasty mumbo-jumbo off that nice car you've got plenty of room to work and get it looking good too.

other good uses for easy-off,want to restore an old model car kit it will remove the old paint without hurting MOST plastic kits,it will also remove the "chrome" used on the plastic.
also scored a piston on a race motor and easy-of took the aluminum off the cylinder wall

I definitely see why you wanted the stuff removed.

It is very good for removing grease from the underside of you car as well as the old paint. Just spray on a heavy coat this evening and come back in the morning and pressure was her down, usually good clean de-greased metal ready to prime. I have done this on several cars and trucks with excellent results.
