Now ****, you know One Load is a shy guy, he`d never come on here and bring attention to himself!! If you want the story, well then I guess we`ll just have to beat it out of him!!
Yea you caught me! It's going to be featured in Old Skool Rods if it would ever stop FRIGGIN RAINING!!!!!!!.....so we can get all of the pictures taken. Hopfully, if the end of the world is not yet comming, it will be in there soon.I'm definatly jazzed about it.

wtf ? is nothing sacred ? now you are on that site ? .....you came on here claiming to be a traditional hot rodder with your bling bling wheels on a flat black delivery . now you buy the buick and want to put those ugly wheels on that ?.....MOST guys on layitlow are into traditional old school lows . are you going to claim to be one of them now ? ....maybe they will at least convince you to get rid of the ugly mexican blanket interior ... ......
Well, at least he built it himself....what?...oh...um...eeep..the bags..oh yes...well...um.....*hic*.... Well at least its better than the billet wagon.....and u know what we would have done to him if he posted this here...oh..it is now...*runs to get comfortable chair.....* hehe.. MKK
[ QUOTE ] Where is the excitement about a feature on something you bought...I don't get it. [/ QUOTE ] HeHeHe
i gotta agree with donnie here as usual. is nothing sacred? i knew there were several of us on that board from time to time but it was the same core group of us here that dig on the same **** for the most part. hey did you hear mopar square wheels are cool? just ask donnie hahahahahaha. all the cool kids are doin' it. seriously whether you built the car or not congrats even though i don't care much for OSR. in turn though gotta give leasons where they are due. not wide whites on a sixties car. it been pounded into your head enough. it just didn't happen. that change alone will make a huge differnce and you can probably sell the wide for enough to buy a set of skinny whites. second unless your using it to cover rat eaten seats like i was no mex blankets. give that car decent guts please. the end...ken....
[ QUOTE ] Dont go all Hollywood on us now. [/ QUOTE ] Hey..Just what are you trying to say.....Is that anything like "MUNSON"?

[/ QUOTE ]I don't know about this one. some 60's cars look great with wide whites, for example Mike Youngs' chevy
ok speed i'll give credit where credit is surely due as mike's car is amazing. 59-60 are an exception first of all. and more so if running chrome reverse. anything after '61 or if your building a 60s style car which is what the builder of 1los car was shooting for they are just not right. i will say it's still close enough that his car with chrome reverse and wides i could even live with. i have friends who won't listen to this but wide white were not used very much post 60-61 and alot of car makers were using skinny whites long before that. yes people still used them but they were a bit dated for the times so to speak. man now i'm gonna ream about mike's chevy tonight thanks...ken....
Look guys, I'm not here to argue about whats right or wrong about my car. Maybe the ww's aren't period perfect for the car, but I doubt that the airbags are either. But guess what, I DON'T CARE! I like MY car how it is and I like MY UGLY*** MEXICAN BLANKETS TOO!!!!! And no, I didn't build it either, but guess what all you nay sayers? That will be mentioned in the article, so don't lose any sleep over it. My car is like me, DIFFERENT. I like being different, always have and always will. Matter of fact, I think I might go put a set of gold 28" spinner spokes with gold ringed Caddy tires so I can BLING BLING across the pages of OSR! And on a final note, even though I don't give a rat's *** what people think, this is the only place I have EVER heard a negative comment about the car........and that wasn't until I bought it........
Went to a Holiday Party a few weeks ago. Pulled up in the '58 I've just started working on and there is Exotica and Jimmie's Riviera. Man, I felt like a ****.
If I was approached by a magazine about a car I purchased, I wouldn't have the balls to let them do the article. I'd feel like a caretaker, not a builder. That explains why I've never looked in that scenester mag, let alone seen it anywhere. I hope you had them call the builder for an interview. Thats what I would have done. There's nothing wrong with being a caretaker of a car. All cars deserve a respecting owner, but if proper credit is not given where due, **** off. I hope you gave proper credit to those whom had that vision in their head and the creativity to pull it off and eventually sell it to you.
This post is probably EXACTLY why he is holding out. Don't bag on him until the article comes out. Then we'll see. That car rocked when it was built in OH. It rocks now. I would leave the wide whites. Sometimes rules are meant to be broken. This is one of those times.

Scroll up about three inches............................................. In other words, the builder will get credit.
[ QUOTE ] and there is Exotica and ...... [/ QUOTE ] Are you referring to "Exotica" the yellow '35 (?) Chevy that took "Streetrod of the Year" in about 1998? Haven't seen it since 1998 (?) when it made the rounds of all the shows for that one year then disappeared. I heard it was sold to a collector in NY. Man I was in love with that car at the time. Is this the same one you just saw??
Exotica is Mike Young's Gary Howard built '60 in the picture above. As I typed that, I just thought it interesting that that car comes up in this post. 1Low is getting grief for not being the builder, yet everybody excepts Exotica as Mike's car. (including me, it IS Mike's car)
1low, i think there's a lot of bandwagon bashing here. Just take it in stride. You're right, its your car and you can put 19" tuner wheels on it for all I care. I understand why you didn't post about OSR on here, because the results are 3 pages of bashing. I'm sure there's more people that are featured in Custom Rodder and RnC that had people BUILD their cars compared to people featured that built their own. As you and others have mentioned, as long as credit is given to the builders. Hell, I didn't build my 39, I traded for it...
[ QUOTE ] this is the only place I have EVER heard a negative comment about the car........and that wasn't until I bought it........ [/ QUOTE ] Hmmm......nah, I'll let someone else tell him...
I like your car man, I like it alot. Wide whites, mexican blanket and all. Its bad***. And I'm being serious.

[/ QUOTE ] hey, people are trying to help you out, just like if you were rollin a cherry deuce, done up all trad. like, but with some big fat radial tires. wrong is wrong. part of "traditional" is knowing what should and shouldn't be...and caring enough to get it "right". that is the difference between the HAMB, and the other board where you posted pics...where posters are so ignorant they think the bellflower tips must make it fast! congrats on the feature.
[ QUOTE ] Now ****, you know One Load is a shy guy, he`d never come on here and bring attention to himself!! If you want the story, well then I guess we`ll just have to beat it out of him!! [/ QUOTE ] hahaha I had a good laugh on that one lol but anyway, congrats on the feature. Ive said it before, but I really really do like your car, INCLUDING the wide whites and mexican blankets. I remember the buildup of that car, and like you said, I dont remember any negative comments about it then (others can correct me if im wrong). This is the ONE issue of OSR that I will have to buy.
i think it's rad that ol' skool rodz combined with your controversial tire selection is creating such a tidal wave of drama...the most famous cars are the ones half the people like, and half the people hate....i can't wait to see the article.
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] this is the only place I have EVER heard a negative comment about the car........and that wasn't until I bought it........ [/ QUOTE ] Hmmm......nah, I'll let someone else tell him... [/ QUOTE ] Oh my gawd... I just sharted (**** + farted) I have always loved that car...the look, the sound, even the interior and if I ever wanted to see it Jeff wasn't to far away. Maybe I wouldn't have bagged it but it is your car now. If ya want to bling bling it now...that's your call. It is your car now. Maybe it's a sour g****s thing for me (I didn't have the cash for it) but as soon as you bought it I expected to see a cool car go to hell. So far it has pretty much kept the look that I liked from the beginning. I do wonder what the skinny whites would look like on it but I wondered that when it was here in Ohio too.
