I talked to this guy today and invited him to the Sins of steel show. He said the car was to loud and to fast for the streets. Anybody know anything about this car?http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/cto/1711897481.html
I don't doubt too loud but there has never been anything too fast to drive. I don't care for his ch***is setup it looks like a Roth cartoon. Nothing against Roth he was a good friend just that cartoon cars were only a fantasy or pure show cars. No offense intended.
There is no such thing as a car that is too fast for the street although I have had guys tell me that they knew someone who had a car that was outlawed from being on the street because it was too fast. That car in the photos looks iffy to even drive in and out of an event off a trailer. The engine looks pure quarter mile or maybe dirt track open wheel and the car isn't equipped for street driving. More like a look at me cartoon car.
Actually, it's spelled : "B-A-N-T-A-M"...the guy that owns it now, bought it from the guy who originally built it...there was an article in a recent, (couple of years), Hot Rod Deluxe on it...saw it at the Road Rockets show in Indy a few years ago...never saw it driving or ever heard it run, but saw it parked... ...don't know if I could bring myself to powdercoat a set of magnesium Halibrand's or American's!
I like the way it looks. I would like to go for a ride in it. It is definately not a belly ****on car like I have. I know how it's spelled "Mr G***ur" That is the way he listed it.
Sure wish I had that body and he had a feather up his ****. Just kidding, but sure could use a rebuildable Bantam body.
Glad I'm not the only one that doesn't dig that thing. I hate the "broken frame" look. But if the builder was going for the Rat Fink T-shirt look, I'd say he nailed it.
That car looks fast just sitting there. The guy who built it Had a hell of a imagination. I personally Like it when people go beyond the limits to bring something unique to the game. Traditional Rods Are beautiful and some rat rods introduce new ideas to the game as well. He did some great work with shortening of that body and Yeah it looks like a Roth Tee But it is still bad-***. It's art in motion...
That has been up for sale for a long time. Not street or strip legal was the issue if I recall correctly.
It was at Viva a couple years back. I really dig this car, I wonder what would need to be changed to get it up to strip spec.
