Fantasy of Flight is a good time. Well maintained facility and planes. There is also a VERY nice gent down there that was restoring a FW190F (White 1). I stopped by his place and it was closed for the weekend. I called their business line to see when they would be open next. The guy said, "I will be right there". He spent 4 hours talking with me, showing me machine guns, bomb pods, engines he secured from Finland, Russia, old eastern Germany, etc. Highly recommended.
Ramblur, thanks for posting the "bombing run"!!! I finally made it to FoF last summer and had a great time- it's a fantastic place!
Love the B-25! I'm also a big fan of Jimmy Doolittle, here's a video of when my cousin and I met up with the raiders flight at Minter Field on there way back from Fresno in April of '94. Good times! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDIYyaGSU5U
Jimmy Doolittle lived in Pebble Beach and every year on his birthday there used to be a flyover of B-25s. Nothing like looking up and seeing a bunch of old warbirds coming in over the coast!
That's not a terribly recent video (but it is certainly cool!). However it was just announced this week that the Apache Princess is back in the airworthy rotation and is undergoing the required maintenance and inspections to be a flier again this summer.
