I have exceeded my bandwidth on Photobucket and I refuse to pay the $40 right now so they can become visible again. Check back on June 1st!!!! Sorry man but if I have $40 to blow right now it's going to be a on part for my '35.:D:D:eek::eek:

  4. You can delete some old pic's and it will free up space. Maybe they will show up again.

Ha! I like to think of my threads as Limited Edition. Get 'em why there hot.....or you snooze you lose....or well, you get the point. My threads are hot shit Larry:D:D:D.

I have plenty of space left it's just that too many people viewed the images which pushed me passed my allowed bandwidth for the month. It resets every first day of the month so...

Alright damn it, I ponied up and spent the money on a Pro Account so you guys can see the pics. I will be passing around a basket for you guys to donate some funds so I can reclaim that money. Worst cash I have ever spent!!! Hahaha!!!!

Thanks JJ, great pics. Have a "photobucket" with you at the next Hotcakes breakfast and I'll be sure to put a donation in it.

My son has already told me to plan on us heading to Maxton for the June meet.

Great Pics JJ. I went for the first time in April, became a member, and finally decided what I was going to do with my coupe.

I bought myself a helmet and came back this past weekend to see if it was everything it seemed to be... guess what? Even driving my Silverado, it was a blast! If anyone wants to run at the track it is really easy.

    1. Become a member of the ECTA. http://www.ecta-lsr.com/
    2. Get and READ the rule book!!!
    3. Get a helmet
    4. Come to one of the race weekends. (Schedule is on the ECTA site)
    5. Attend the Rookie Orientation on Friday evening and have whatever vehicle you brought or drove there inspected.
    6. Get in line on saturday and drive whatever you have, flat out!

The track crew are great and can help with any questions you might have. And by the way, most of them are VOLUNTEERS!

I had a great weekend. Even though I was driving an OT vehicle, it gave me the drive to start getting my coupe built to run there!

You don't need a "Race Car" to start out with, But you WILL have one when it's all said and done.

Thanks pretty aweseom BudJ63. You got a spark and now your fire is lit!!! Keep going and keep us posted.

I wonder if I could perhap build my '32 into a dual purpose coupe much like they did in the hey day. I am planning on building my '32 5w into a early to mid 50's drag coupe that would have a car originally built for the salt but with the rise of drag strips might have made the switch. Do you think that a engine built for drag racing 300-400 hp HEMI would do alright at Maxton if I switched out the rear for a 3.23 Ring & Pinion?

I wonder what the difference in engine building would be in the two different ends of the spectrum. I also wonder if I'll be able to hide all the safety expectations so that my car does not have that full out comp look all the time.

Definitely need to get a Rule book so I can start day dreaming.

Check out ECTA's site, I'm sure it'll point you the right direction.

If you keep it under 135mph the only safety expectations you will need for Maxton is a helmet, long sleeve shirt, good brakes, good tires and a mechanically sound vehicle. Above 135 you will need a cage and a racing seat.

Throw the helmet in the trunk when you're not racing!

135 sounds fast enough....for now!!! What about tires? Bias Ply alright up to 135? I think they need to be speed rated huh? Excelsiors?

    Man
I really need to get down there when I am in town. It is so close.
Just been out west a lot, working 90 hours a weeks, and little kids at home.
I have this lakester almost ready to run down the track, 1:45 minutes from Maxton. All it has to do is make it to the finish and it will have a record in it's open class.

But I am selling it because I just don't have time to get down there, love to see it go down the track and Bonneville.
    Lame.
