Being new I looked in "search" to see if this had been coverd already. Didn't see anything, so here goes...My first big show was Goodguys in Orlando in 2000. To me they had an impressive turn out. I couldn't make '01,'02, but I did plan on '03. I was suprised to find the show had moved to Tallah***ee.That was much more convienient for me,but I noticed attendance was way off compared to 2000 in Orlando. I expected it to move somewhere else for '04, but it didn't. Attendance was up. Members of the club told me they had signed a 5 year deal with Goodguys!Great! A big show just 21/2 hrs. away! Then I see an announcement from Goodguys that this years show is in Jacksonville. I sent an E-mail to the Tally president "Didn't you guys have a contract?" Not only did they have a contract, he said they hadn't been contacted, at that time, by Goodguys about not showing up. They found out about it when they saw the ad in Goodguy Gaxette. Is this anyway to run a business? WTF

So how is it they "screwed" the Tallah***ee bunch?

I'd bet there's more to it than simply "moving" the event and "screwing" the boys in the club...every argument has two sides...so far all we've seen is yours...and WHY are you so concerned? Seems to me it should be the Tallah***ee group that should be enraged...not you!

Ya know, I HATE posts that say so and so got SCREWED when an outsider doesn't even have all the facts (from both sides!!!) in a row...

Just looking at the map, maybe saving the drive time from Jacksonville to Tallah***ee will increse attendance. Could be a better area and more services in Jacksonville, lots of things to factor in.

Well, there probably is two sides. I'm not involved with the Tally bunch. ***uming(yeah,I know) that the Tally guys were telling the truth about the contract, that Goodguys wouldn't just move w/o saying a thing to them. I said I expected the show to move after the '03 event. That was before thoughts on contracts with a host club even crossed my mind. I've been involved with putting on shows, nothing of this size, and it's a lot of work. I was looking at it from that point. You've got plans for the next 5 years & next thing you see is an ad for the show somewhere else. It would seem to be a real slap in the face, like Nobel,Twain or whoever it was finding thier obit in the paper.

No 'probably' about it...there's ALWAYS two sides!

No doubt...but that's a far cry from "screwing" someone or a club.

Why didn't you explain it the way you just did in your first post instead of standing on the highest rooftop and making accusations YOU can't back up?

I'd bet the majority of guys on this board have been involved in putting on runs/events and know that what one guy in the club sez tain't necessarily the 100% truth...facts tend to get distorted when someone is angry!

If it's that important to you to yell about someone (other than yourself) getting screwed, you'd better get ALL the facts first!

Damn, who pissed in your coffee? You seem to be the one enraged. Must have something to do with Goodguys being a source of income for you.

"George" pissed in my coffee, Adjustable...I HATE anyone yelling about how they got "screwed" when they, in fact, are not even affected by anything either party did...

    and I'm not enraged...

Has nothing to do with my "source of income," I'd stand up for the HAMB, NSRA, KKOA, KOA, GoodGuy's, NHRA or any other organization that just got accused of something as blatant as "George"...hell, I'd even stand up for your right to call me out...that is, IF you have "BOTH" sides of the argument!

    Dear George,

You need a life. You sealed your fate in the ***le of your post. Including the word "Streetrodders" in your ***le meant that no one is going to care an iota. Maybe you should take a look at the board you're on and figure out that you are in the wrong place. Maybe, and it's a long shot, maybe you should go take off the billet pieces and divest yourself of the "streetrodderness" and give traditional a chance.

I went to the first Tallah***ee and it ****ed as far at GG events go, last year was not better I was told (did not go because of previous year - not afraid to make the drive). The fairground was in the Ghetto and overall it was not impressive.. Moving to Jacksonville is the last hope for a GG show in FL. If the attendance (walk in and car registration) does not get bigger the South will lose the show.

I for one am looking forward to Jacksonville.

As for getting screwed, well I can not commint on what was agreed to but it is my understanding that GG give each location 2 to 3 years to work or they move to find better draw.

I think Gary Meadors flipped me off once...

His possible bird notwithstanding, I'm glad there is ANYbody who puts on shows where I can drive my hot rod to go look at a **** load of other hot rods. They even sell BEER!

PS. As anyone who has ever been there will tell you, Tallah***ee ****s.

NC, dude! Not-Cool! Are you a Clemson, NC State, UNC fan or something? Maybe worse - maybe a Gaytor fan? [IMG] Hope I didn't "out" you here publicly... [IMG]

Tally is fine - just like any college town, stay away from the college areas to avoid drunk frat boys, otherwise it's good. Don't know when/where you went, but I love Tally.

Now if you only went to the GG show, then I've not been there, but haven't heard anything good about it...Jax should be closer for you, I-95 straight down. Ah, Jacksonville, now there's an ugly town... [IMG]

I am a member of the "Tally club" and here is what happened. I found out about the change from another board from a G.G. rep. Called the club pres., he had heard nothing. If you like us or not we put a lot of work into ***isting with the show. No one is mad as hell about it just that it would have showed a little cl*** to give us a heads up.

Being a resident of T-town, I think Jax is a much better venue for this show. It will get more people from Central Fl than Tally does. It's the politics of this **** that ****s...I've met a bunch of the Tally-Streetrodders and they are good guys.

  29. Think the HAMB Nazi's will get pissed if I hyjack this for a shameless self serving whizz?
Goodgys Charlotte picked my coupe for 'Timeless Tradidtional' ....so in my book they are Ok (look for it in the next GG Gazette). If you ever saw how nasty my HotRod is under the hood and through the ch***is you might think these guys are ok, coz the coupe sure aint no show car.
Oh yeah, back to the post, maybe they had vote and they all didnt get counted.
