I went to Knoxville this year and it was great. Vendor count was high and the variety of cars mixed together was a site to see. I have been a NSRA supporter for years and will continue to support their new program.

I am heading out Thursday with a bunch of guys. We will stay through Sunday. Some of the guys have been to everyone of the shows at York and other N.S.R.A. events. And also belong to Good Guys die hard Hot Roders. But if it ****s this year we will not be back.

Vended at OKC and visited with a vendor from Springfield. Its working! This 30 year deal is a fact and it'll all shake out so give it a rest. This will be the first time I haven't vended at York in about 12 years. I've grown tired of beating it down the road with the 5th wheel in tow on a 2800 mile round haul. I'll miss being there but time marchs on.

For all those who care, just wanted to get the story straight. When I spoke with the National Director for NSRA, I asked about doing the traditional Hot Rod area again just like I have done for over 10 years. I was told that there was a concern about parking space and wanted to offer something different for the people that would be coming to York for the first time.
That's OK with me, because honestly, I'm tired of fighting with the guys that think there car should be in there even though it has billet wheels, velour interior and IFS! So what if your car was a hot rod at some point in its life. If you destroyed all that just so you could be in the "this is the cool fad now club" you have wiped away any history your car may have had. I sponsored and paid for the right to have an area where like-minded people could gather and reflect on where this hobby started and look at cars that still had that character now. I even went so far as to allow "replica" cars that were built to the era and look of the 40's 50's or 60's and have the spirit of what true hot rodding is all about.
So after more than 10 years of explaining what is a Hot Rod (in my opinion) and paying for the event and gathering them all in one place. I'm tired. I think **** has a great idea, one of you organize a show and I'll bring my Hot Rod and visit with all my buddies!

Junior- I'm crushed that you didn't ask to borrow the 70's Van for the show.

    Thanks Ron,
I'll look forward to visiting with you. I always enjoy looking at the car again. The Happy Days truck is on display in the Toyota building this year.
I don't get to take it out as often as I would like either. To those who would be interested, hope you enjoy seeing the K***a Coupe and the Happy Days Hot Rod at this years event.
    Thanks
    Jerry

Sorry i won't see you guys at york, but i decided 2009 was my last. after 25 years got fed up with all the billet, bling and smaller amount of vendors. Motels are to expensive and when you find one it 's hard to finding a parking place with all the trailers hogging all the lot. The trip to york was always marred by the constant road work every year you'd think the state would hold off once in a while for the show traffic, and i hear there is another 8 years of repairs scheduled. Give me the Jalopy Showdown any day over york, now that is a great show with good people running it. To all the Hamber's at york have a good time and a safe trip home sunday.

  26. Sorry to say IMO York ain't what it used to be, it's all about the money. I am not renewing my NSRA membership.

  27. So where are the freaking pictures.
Or was it a waste of time to waste the film.

Didn't have a chance to take many photos as I was only able to stay for friday
Saw a large number of friends introduced 40luv and Tokyo to trosley,
bought some junk in the swap, lusted over the duesenberg at the alan Johnson booth
I'd say it ****ed just about the same as usual

Getting to talk with George Trosley was the highpoint of my trip there.
