We stayed at a La Quinta (Oltorf, I think) last year, it wasn't too far from downtown. It was cheaper than the downtown stuff, too. Probably a 5 or so minute drive from the club. I think we got it through Hotels.com.
still not ready for registration! I'm bummed I have stayed at the Austin Motel all III previous years and they don't take reservations very far in advance (III months) when I called Jan 4 was told not booking yet for April. When I called back Jan 7 to start my reservation on March 31 I was told all booked for the weekend. My heart is broken. The LaQuinta is nice, but as costly as the smallest room at the Austin so we're staying next door south at the Best Value Inn 512-441-0143. 1/2 the price of the La Quinta and not quite as shabby as the Motel 6 & Super 8 further south of Oltorf. I thought about the downtown hotels, but parking garage ramps don't usually play nice with Lowlita C'mon April!!!

[/ QUOTE ] Before I moved here, this is where I stayed. around $100 a night, but good breakfast and free alcohol from 6-8:30 PM every night. Hopefully I can even go this year.....
LOL, its awesome. They limit 2 drinks per trip to the bar, unlimited trips. They dont have everything free, but most of the well liquors and 5 different beers.
I could get us a group rate at my hotel off Ben White and Congress (Marriott) let me post a bulletin and see if anyone else is interested...
