Thompson, OH to Indianapolis, IN -- What is there to do for a week??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by flattyv8, May 31, 2010.

  1. Hi Guy's,

A couple of friends are going to the G***er meet in Thompson, OH and from there to the the GoodGuy's meet in Indy the following weekend, what is there to do for a week going between Thompson and Indy? Crusie nights or Rod shops or Points of Interest?

See you all in Indy, that's where I'm meeting up with these guys:D, they will be driving in a dark blue 32 3 window.

    Thanks for the help.

If you get down near Dayton, check out the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson AFB. Well worth the time and it's free!

When you get to Indy, go to the Indy 500 track and museum, then down the block to GMC bubba's shop, then you could go to Brownsburg and hit Godspeeds shop, Walts next door. On wednesday night downtown Indy is a cruise at the Rathskeller beirgardens, cool place. John Force has a store at his shop in Brownsburg. I'll watch for you.

    Lets see,
Wednesday (all day) at the Greek's shop in Jamestown (just off I-74 and about 15 miles west of IRP), Thursday afternoon and evening at Walts/God Speed in Brownsburg (I am right next door for the drag race fans),
Friday night at Bubba's (Main Street in Speedway) and Saturday night at Tom Culbertson's.

go to the rock and roll hall of fame in Cleveland, maybe drive down to summit racing..not super cool but they have some old rails in there. There aint nothin between Indianapolis and Thompson. You might as well hit Chicago then go to Indy from there.

At the risk of being laughed at, I'd suggest the Children's Museum of Indy. Steam locomotive, dinosaur bones, and lots of cool stuff. I try to make it there at least once a year.

Your welcome to stop in here after the the thompson event. There is also the Museum of Speed in Mentor. Hall of fame and Summit are good choices...as is the Crawford in Cleveland. You could stop at Sandusky and go to the best amusment park in the world, Ceder point. You could also tour the Islands and Port Clinton. Might consider going north from there and go to Detroit to see the Henry Ford Musuem. There are several museums near indy too. Enjoy the week!

Sunday June 6th at Raceway park is the normal Sunday ET Series drags.
Tuesday June 8th is the weekly street legal drags (allot of tuners and Mustangs)

If you get real bored I got Gr*** to cut or cars to wash, and I am just down the street from IRP!

I will be there at the shop as I have lots of stuff to get done for some of the Goodguys nitro racers. After tonight's test and tune rain out I will be at IRP either Saturday or Sunday making the last runs for my top fuel license. We will probably be at Greek's for a while on Wednesday and will take the race car to the track on Thursday afternoon if everything is done.

There is no place in Central Indiana better to grab a cold brew. Well, except for in people's garages over cool projects.
