My step son needs some info for rims for his truck. It came with new 16" wide whites and he wants to keep them on the truck, but he put a Ford Explorer rear end under it and now can't find 16" rims to fit the 4.5" Ford bolt pattern. I see cop rims are 16" but they have holes in them. Also can the front drums be changed to anything with 4.5"? A drum or spindle change maybe.
3 options for genie wheel w/ 5 on 4.5 pattern. Buy new and pay lots, get a wheel adaptor and pay like 60.00 an use the rims you have, buy early mopar wheels ( like forties) they look like genies but have clips for the hub cap. these were usually 4.5 - or old jeep wheels from wwII some of those were 16 x 4.5 5 on 4.5 but th center hole is a monster like 4 inches lol so put a cool bullet cap or run hubcaps or somethin good luck
Some International pickups had the 5 on 4.5 wheel pattern. Some are 16 inch and some will accept the stock, original F-1 type hubcap. Not real easy to find ... but they are out there ... .
although it takes the "outside" cap - Ford offered the 16" wheel on the new 49 - 50 Ford cars which had the new 4.5 bolt pattern...aquired some myself...but they arent real easy to come by...as I have three...but trying to get some from a buddy....
Your right on the Jeep wheel 16x4 or 4.5 but the bolt pattern is 5x5.5 like the big Ford. A Willys car of the same era maybe different. But all the Jeeps I've had have been the 5x5.5 bp. Jeff
You said the truck is a F-2, does it still have the eight bolt drums in the front? If it still has the stock wheels in the front you can change it over to disc with a conversion kit for a F-1. The front axle and spindles are the same on the F-1 to F-3. You can check to see if there is a brake disc with the bolt pattern you want that will work the conversion kit.
