found a guy near me that has most of the rod and customs and car crafts from the 50s. all are in good shape. i think he said there were 98 total and he thinks his brother still has another box. he said he wants 200-250 for the lot could this be a good investment. i only need a few from them so i would be selling half to three quarters of the collection off. i know i've paid as little as a buck and as much as five for hard to get one. let the opinions fly. oh yeah i would need to make the deal this week probably as he has them advertised in local sales paper...ken.... oh yeah if anyone has specific wants let me know as i'm gonna go look at the lot probably thursday night.
Buy em. Old magazines are cool. You'll pay $4 each on a news stand now days for the **** they publish now, but could pick these up for $2 each. And these are worth reading. I think people who published magazines back then were actually car people, not journalism majors who got jobs at Emap or whatever their name of the month is...
Hey Luckystiff, I'd be a player on some of the little books. I'm looking for any of the "Spotlite" series of them that were done by Hot Rod from like around '61-'62 to like '65. They were about stuff like Fins and Scoops, Kustom Pickups, Kustom Interiors, etc. Let me know what you find. Layta.....................E
