It isn't a typical HAMB type event, but I go with my Dad once a year when I return home for a visit. I plan on taking my car this year and was wondering if any other HAMBers make this cruise in. I'll be there Friday the 15th and 22nd. If you see two '50 Fords parked next to each other, one black the other blue, that will be us.
I do attend a few times a year. Go early, Way to many new trucks, vetts ,and mustangs for me Hot Rod night is good
yah its getting kinda crappy to much new stuff ricer burners etc etc . if your bored your can stop down the shop just send me a pm im about 20 mins from wexford
I'll be there the majority of the shows.. I get to cover it for "The Magazine" and keep my eye out for feature cars...
yeh i agree thought it was a friggen used car lot even had late model retired cop cars and old camper specials
I went to the wexford starlight drive in when it still existed in my 57 chevy, the guy who had bought it George Welsh had planned on rebuilding it somewhere else after it was torn down that must have been in 1988 I believe I still have a Tshirt to prove it, also went there many times as a kid remember the roller coaster.
Did it rain there last night? I will be there hot rod night June 11. Ago <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
they should put all the new shit in the top lot. to many vettes new escaldes etc but there are some very nice cars parked among the new stuff. to bad the new stuff out numbers old 4 to 1 it rained up there yesterday ago
I wanted to go last night, kept looking at the weather, hoped we got out of work early. Got home to get the car out, BOOM, thunderstorms. Lasted about an hour so I said the heck with it. Will try next Friday for sure.
Will try next week. Hot Rods on the 11th I will miss due to a graduation. Car has some hot running issues, will try a few things, run up to Pittsburgh Mills next wed mabey. Most of the usual crowd may be at York that day too. Weather permitting will try again.
LOL!! I wasn't there, I had a cookout with my son since I worked all weekend. I'll more than likely be there just about every week here on out. And just because you look at women your own age doesn't mean you can't flag me down and say hi!
Arguably, the best cruise night in the area. The church that sponsers this event bends over backward to make it an enjoyable cruise. I also agree that there are way too many new vehicles (corvettes, corvettes and more corvettes). Unfortunately this is true for most of the car cruises in the area.
For what it is, it's a great show. Brings in 800-1200 cars every week! Yes, lots of gay stuff. But that's at all shows. I'll be there this week!
Well shoot.... he's about 12 years too young. Oh well, can't win em all. I'll be the one with the camera in my hand crawling around on the ground taking pictures, I'm sure.
We've made some suggestions to them, but they're not interested in any changes, too bad. Most of the guys I know with really nice cars around here rarely venture over there. If sheer numbers are what you're after, you'll love it, but it's been said before and I'll say it again "size isn't everything".
Guess its the old arguments of involvement. On one hand its nice to have a place for them to go and socialize in a pretty safe environment, wether they learn anything from it...well.
Bummer is right! I rushed out of work, showered and got dressed, got the girls... *ahem* my cameras(!!!) ready, checked the show schedule... and it said it was cancelled. I wanted grape leaves!! Next week is street rod night.... and I won't be able to make it to that one. I'm still a bit salty about it. Oh, o/t, but are any of you local folks going to be at the Beaver Falls Happy Days Cruise next Saturday?
I would love to be, since it's only 20 minutes from home. Oh well, maybe for the next one. Vixen, if you like doing the taking picture thing, pm me...I'm trying to find someone sort of local to get pics of the 29 Dodge I'm building my wife.
I worked in the morning and I kept seeing cars go down 19 on their way there.... and all I could think about all day was seeing cars and stuffing myself with grape leaves! LOL As for the wipers? Eh... they're over rated... You gotta let me know what kind of turnout street rod night has.
I'm hoping to make the trip out in my T-Bucket... hopefully will be a nice showing of hot rods this week
Man...thats looks good flop. That place is sweet...love those old, used, Pittsburgh garages. Ive known George since I was a little kid....His Market is a big part of our area. Serious car guy....really does his part.... Look forward to checking this out...and the greek place...
Go ahead everyone, rub it in that you'll all be there enjoying the weather and I'm going to be stuck at work being hot and miserable. lol
I used to go to this cruise all the time >great church food but all the tuner cars started to take over. The last time i went they made a bunch of classics park up in the upper lot and when i saw all new cars in there i threw a fit and they got about 4 of us spots. haha. I was extra fiesty. but yea. maybe this Friday I will go out but my truck won't be ready
This is very true... but I personally would much rather be hot and miserable at a car show than hot and miserable in my restaraunt.
I was there last week with My 66 Vw Bus. I agree there should be a cutoff on a year. Or something. I might take the racer next time if I can figure where to park the trailer. Bob
