Would someone be kind enough to point me at a good upholstery guy near L.A. that can recover the seats on my stock '38 Ford Phaeton? I emailed LeBaron-Bonney about their kits and their prices made my nose bleed...just for the materials...and their leather samples didn't look right in the second place. It's a basically unrestored stock car with the original seats, far from a showcar, but it's been in the family since new and has the original seats, so patterns and materials should be reasonably easy. I don't want a concours job but I don't want to put in something that looks wrong and needs redoing later. Thanks.
Check out Luis Loyola at Loyola Auto Interiors in El Segundo. He does good work for a reasonable price. He has a Stude powered Model A roadster I'm pretty sure was at GNRS this year.
Thanks. FWIW, we're vintage racing at Infineon (Sears Point) and my buddy blew the splines out of his '24 T roadracer 5 1/2" Quartermaster clutch discs. Tony Oddo from Suisun was Johhny-on-the-spot with 2 new discs this morning. I asked him if he needed p***es for the racing and he laughed and said he had 26 engines he built running in the Historic TransAm cl***es. Sounds like a pretty good machine shop.
try Nachos upholstery on Victory and Whitsett in north hollywood...gave me a decent price and they do good work..
