Used a Francis, liked it. Will be open minded and check out a Rebel.

Used American autowire on 2 cars that I built and the second kit has some nicer refinements , especially on the fuse block...my $.02....good luck...

  8. I've used them all. Prefer EZ Wire for my own stuff. Painless is good if you have a fat wallet. I plan on trying a Rebel kit on the next re-wire. Always get Color Coded wiring. Black wiring makes your brain hurt.

While we are on the subjuct does anybody make one with the old syyle gl*** fuse's as I will be reduing my T-bucket and would like to use the old gl*** fuse, as the car was built in 1962.

  10. I did a recent rewire on a vintage Jeep with a kit that used barrel fuses. I don't remember who made the wire kit but it was great for the Jeep. It would have been even better if it had cloth covered wiring.

I have used the EZ-wire. I really likes it cause there was an option for all black wires = no rainbow under the hood (they are all labeled with white labels every 6" or so). Price is pretty good. Never used a rebel, but alliance discount might be worth the multi-color.

I just got the rebel wiring harness for my Dodge. (forgot to let them know I was a member here though, so no discount)... havent installed it yet, but I like the looks of it. Used a Francis before, but for $500, Vs. the $160 or so I paid for the 9+3, looks like Ill be using Rebel wiring from now on.

Look in your pocket and let that be your guide. For around 200 the big rebelwire kit worked for me. If I'd had 450ish I'd have gone american autowire. Super nice and has american switches.

Just finished my Willys coupe...with a LOT of help. Used Kwik Wire and never again. Mismarked wire, duplicated numbers on 3 circuits, NO instructions (had to be down loaded from their website), a dead short in the fuse panel (against the mounting base). I purchased the kit, and told the seller to include all switches, relays systems, and whatever miscellaneous I would need. NONE of what was included was even close to their downloaded instruction sheet as far as compatibility. The 800 number "***istance" was a joke.

I was not a "HAMBer" at the time of the purchase, or I would have gone to Rebel. Matter of fact, I came this close to ripping everything out we had done when the fuse block short showed up, and almost called Rebel. My expert helper deterred me for economic reasons as well as the time factor...both what was already invested and the time to start over.

i used an EZ wire and didn't have any problems...

American Autowire now has a cloth wiring kit but it's insanely priced ($800)....wondering when another company will come out with one..
