Seriously; has anyone ever tried to buff a car finish with tooth paste?

    u got ripped. even the new line of their 1 2 3 system. its 35 for the compound. 35 for the swirl. 40 for the ultra fina (which u dont need) wool pad is 15 bucks. foam pad is 15. ultrafina pad is about 25(still dont need)

    doesnt add up to 300 bucks.

    Don`t know bout tooth paste but back in my days in the body shop we used easy off oven cleaner to remove lettering paint from vehicles ,didn`t hurt the factory paint at all.

    I have used an old tube of Crest to polish model cars, but I think they have reduced the abrasives in tooth paste since then.

    Funny you should mention that product. Kansas City's Quintiles Medical Research Facility just got done erecting a statue for the volunteer test subjects that were lost during the clinical trials of Preparations A through G.

    Try Tom's Natural Orange toothpaste it has a little more fine pumice and works good on bird dropping stains.
