MY WINTER WONDERLAND BY: MERGE As I wonder when the snow will end outside I can't help the urge to take my hot rod for a ride I need a place far from here where theres palm trees, girls, and lots of beer Could it be the garage or the local shop Even a good set of Bendixs couldn't make these thoughts stop Take me to a land with chop tops and channels being sought where history from generations are now being taught A place where names of Roth,Winfield,and Barris are praised and artists submit work for viewers to be simply amazed I dream of pics of a classic whitewall tire wrapped around steelies adjacent to a flathead whose headers throw fire A place with people who understand my passion why I praise hot rods with styling in Doane spencer fassion A land filled with nostalgia and tradition with stories of men that share my hot rod mission Strombergs, zoomies, lake pipes and more a place where new and old share something we all adore A place where terms like jalopy, go-job and kemp are heard and burnouts, flame throwers and drag races arnt ever absurd A land where pinstripes, scallops, and metal flakes lurk where enthusiasts value an original fender skirt A place where guys drive model A's extremely raked or lots of lead sleds with hoods pancaked Or radical rods that have been decked and hell I even love barn finds that were once wrecked A place to learn how to punch a louver on a deuce coupe or a tech article with mallets create a custom scoop An area where all understand the term rumble seat oh where could I go for us all to meet Oh where could such a wonderful place be for it certainly isnt out this window I see Yet with a left mouse click and thoughts of tunnel ram The cold and snow disappear as I'm greated by my old friend the H.A.M.B.

Nice job there Merge...all rhyming nicely... But, the ol' editor in me wouldn't let me get past "fassion" (could that be "fashion?" and "go-jobs"...I'm almost certain you meant "gow-jobs"...there were a couple of other faux-pas I caught, but those didn't affect the poem...Nice touch for all HAMBers... Hey 40StudeDude! Thanks for the constructive criticism, never hurts. I didnt get a chance to edit my work as I was in the middle of a lecture in class but wanted to get it up on the board. Thanks to all who have commented, i just figured there are many of us on here dreaming of warmer places this time of year and right now only have the H.A.M.B. to keep our sanity from hot rod deprivation??? Cool poem! No hot rod riding for me this winter! Unless of course I build a hotrod boat. Last night we were evacuated from out area of 6400 people due to floodwaters here in Ohio. I hated to leave the home unattended but am told there will be sheriffs and fire squads patrolling the area. Most homes are high and dry but the problem is we live in a valley and all the roads are now covered and there is no access in or out of the areas. I'll take snow anyday. this sucks. ...Displaced PJ Winter Sucks

I NEVER want winter to end!!! Well...maybe just let up a little so the blue hairs head northward! The Florida "Winter" Blues (last weekend)
