Yukon & Alaska visit in mid August

Hi guys

2 New Zealand hotrodders will be visiting Yukon (Whitehorse) on August 16 and then spending untill the 31 Aug around that area with a big touch of Alaska as well..Are any events on, hotrod shops to visit or good mechanical type places to visit???? Hope to make it to Fairbanks as well...

I'm in Fairbanks as well. Give a shout if you do in fact make it up here. I'll see if there are any shows around that time frame.

I am in Fairbanks but will be on a road trip to the States during that time. I will find out if there are any shows going on then. Most of the shows are earlier in the summer though.

 

Won't be much to see car wise in Whitehorse but a trip to Dawson City is worthwhile as far as the mining history is concerned. The Top of The World hi-way is pretty scenic and if nothing else the sixty mile drive west from Dawson City to the Alaska border would be a good way to spend a day. That weekend of Aug 15th is the anniversary of the discovery of gold and that involves a fair amont of drinking.
