Old style Mallory 8BA flathead dizzy parts? Available

I'm thinking about buying an old Mallory 8BA style dizzy (one with vaccuum advance) & was wondering if the parts are still available. It is the unit that has the 2 piece cap & the wires come through the top of it.

Are the caps, rotors, poitns still available? Also, do these use the br*** "beer keg" condensors that are bringing in big bucks as well?

Also, are these units designed to be used w/ multiple carb. set-ups?

Not with the vacuum advance. Multi carbs need a mechanical advance, I'm told.

 

Yup thats right,multi carb set ups need mech advance cause you will loose too much vac. signal at any carb base to make the vac adv. work properly. i found out the hard way and now have an extra dizzy.
