Very nice car, the wheel size is what makes it look cartoonish but was probably neccessary in this case. I like it thinking outside the box.
Ah yes, someone else remembers the American Underslung. That was considered the cutting edge at the time.
I löööve it, awesome car. Paint scheme is not halfbad either... give me more ;-) Scrubline who cares ;-) Springs will not performing backward who care's No Front brakes who cares... This is a Hot Rod in my book.... Remember Hot rodding is a Spectator sport......... Visual over function...........
Freaky! Just came in from the shed. I was looking at my 28 frame sitting upside down on the floor after blowing apart the first mock up of my modified and wondering if there was any merit in running an upside down frame. I can't believe this thread is on here. Don't think I'll go that way but MAN I love that car!
Abelugo, Thanks for posting the photos. Is that the XR-6 next to it? It was on eBay a few months ago, spent the last 20 or so years here in a Connecticut collection.
Did underslung chassis come stock in anything?Does anyone make a repro now? Can you really run a chevy frame upside down with some minor tweeks to create one of these?
Triumph TR3 was underslung also. I've never seen a repop kit for underslung. And I suppose it depends on the frame.
