Well I found this Unibody at the local salvage, they usually don't sell to people that don't have a dealer's license but since I go in there so much they made an exception! I posted another thread asking for rust spots, http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=480916 Then I went back to check it out and to my dismay, it was really in great shape, and hardly any rust out. Not perfect but won't take a ton of work to get it closed up!! Ended up with an extra hood too, looks like the original had a big dent in it and they grabbed another. I poped the dent out and it looked ok to me, might need a little hammer/dolly. Plans are to camaro clip the front, flip the rear axle, 350/5spd and use it as a swap meet cruiser/shop truck (see photoshop)! Ok maybe not this low... but.... Or similar to this one I snapped some pics of at the Rust Revival?
I'm diggin' it! Man I wish I hadn't missed the Rust Revival this year. I'll make it next year. Has this been an OK truck it's whole life? Looking forward to seeing the inprogress and completed pictures.
Yep, I'm glad I didn't get that short bed from you late last year, I really wanted a Uni and am glad I held out!! thanks Paul!
The red one, yes it's only been in OK, I'm the 3rd owner if you discount the salvage. It was sold in Bixby new, still has the dealer sticker on the rear roll pan!!
If any one didn't mention on your other thread, I know on the 65 and 66 models in the vents that are down low in the kick panels, they fill up real bad with leaves and crap, they may not be there on 64 and prior with the different floor but thought i would mention it. Great truck, I have had a 65 and 66.
