Anyone have any drawings of some of the bomber seats out there today. I am making a pair out of something besides aluminum and need a drawing if possible.
Try searching "bomber seats" right here on the HAMB. I've done so and found this: http://www.kirkeyracing.com/related/Related Files/Shop Drawings/41300V-Shop-Drawing.gif and have found many threads on it including GREAT plywood bomber seats.
I have some template's of the most comfortable seats you will ever sit in I could mail you a copy of the templates if you give me your address
Sorry it took so long here are some pic, Jimmy i havent forgot about you i will have some templete head n you way i just got the shop cleaned up and found them.
I'd like to see those as well. I'm working on a set and would really like to see what the rest of you are building...
If you do some searching here, you might an old thread showing diagrams & measurements of some very cool plywood bomber seats. Apparently, these wooden seats were used in WWII bombers due to the fact that so much aluminum was being used at that time. Try putting in some quality search time & you won't be sorry.
hmmmmmm wood........new name for the car could be the Termite Special....joking. Does make sense that seats woulda been made from wood..whether it be from the production line or as field expedient repairs
I made these seats out of .090 aluminum. I have the CAD drawing and dimensions if you are interested.
