New progress: got the JAMCO upper control arm mounts installed and was able to get it aligned in the garage, toe 1/16th in .3* neg camber (Left)
.1* neg camber (Right) and 2.5* pos caster (left) and 2.3* pos caster (right) also got the 54 Poncho grille mocked up. I think I need to trim some of the rear lip on the top side to slim it down a little.

Wow Mike you've been kickin' ass on this car! I know what you mean about having a complete mental picture of the car before you even start on the project- I try to do that with my projects as well. Keep up the good work!

I woke up in the middle of the nite thinking the grille aint working for me, so back to the drawing board. This is about the last thing I need to get done before paint so Im open to any ideas or sources for a cool grille idea

Maybe you should try chroming it. If that doesn't work, put it out on the curb NEXT Sunday at 9:08 AM. (I'm busy this sunday)

Finally able to post some progress. All the body work is done all the jams and edges painted and just a final sand and paint left. So far she has got frenched headlights, 49/50 taillights, peaked hood and rear quarters and alot straighter than she was before the color is Carmona Red. My buddy Brad is doing the paint work on it as I aint no body/paint guy

Its a pretty cool color it dont show well in the pictures but it has a ton of pearls in it and changes from a purple to reddish color depending on the lighting. I could use some help deciding on wheel covers and a source for them anybody have any suggestions on some nice hubcaps that I can get new and where I can get a good deal on them

  13. Caddy caps always look good on a 'box, maybe cliche' but still cool.
I have a nice used set. Look if u want, have em for what I paid.

The top is off white and interior is tan I want to switch both to a bright white but that may have to wait until winter comes I'm ready to get this on the road ASAP

I love the color, but Im a little prejudiced, mine was originally maroon.
Good plan on the top/interior color change.
A gal in our club has a '27 T roadster painted a dark candy purple and the light tan interior makes the body color look muddy where I think a brite white would have made it pop.
Thanks for the updates, your kicking ass getting this car together.

Got her back home and started some reassembly. I got the bumpers, head lights, tail lights and stainless back on and the roll up glass in. My neighbor is a glass installer he is coming by in a bit to do the windshield glass. On a side note Im kinda bummed I picked up a set of cool 57 lincoln premier hubcaps at GG Indy last week but they dont fit on my wheels, other than that I'm pretty happy with todays progress.

Looking awesome Man, you've been kicking a$$ on that car. I've been "getting to know" my new 49 coupe I got last week, and I'm falling furthur and furthur in love with her. Nothing beats a nice straight Shoebox, can't wait to see that thing done!

Its been so hot here I have not been working on it much, but I do have some progress. Installed the new Rebel wiring harness and I've got the engine compartment pretty much done and have been working on the interior. I used Hi Tech Vinyl dye to dye all the tan to white and got the carpet kit (Mac's Ford Maroon #21) in (Im going to wait till everything is buttoned up before gluing it down I dont want to have to pull it back up for any wiring or other issues) Here is a before and after of the engine compartment and a shot of the interior so far

I would do the chop. Everyone has a 49-51 Ford thats chopped cause it just looks so Bad Ass! When done right it just works. The contours of the car are shaped like an old Rocket Sled. Good Luck!

I agree they look better chopped usually, but for now I'm just trying to get it back on the road before winter I may go ahead and chop it this winter.

Well she is pretty much done. I've been driving it for a couple weeks now and really love it. I picked up a 8" rear end to put in it for a better cruising gear but that will wait for winter here are a few pics I took today.
