I do these the same as the book,EXCEPT;use a "U" drill and ream for 3/8",or if you don't want something this radical go 11/32". lots easier to find a 3/8" or 11/32" reamer than .391
Pretty slick, will see if I can do this for my 54 Olds slant pan behind the 331 Cad. Since you have all the right stuff, how much to do them for us?
send me your plug and $20 BTW use drill rod for the plunger,it has to be a good fit in the hole, otherwise too much fluid will go around it and it won't work right. for the 11/32" version you can use a hunk of valve stem.
Sooo... for the dummies in the group (me) one would expect a stouter more positive shift, less 'slip' and if your lucky, less heat and wear? Any downsides for doing this for street use?
There's actually someone selling the Hi-Rank book and another Hydro book (reproduced) on that auction site we all know and love. Just do a search for hydro-stick, and it'll be listed towards the bottom of the page. Kind of spendy at $125.00, but you asked. And no, it's not me. Butch/56sedandelivery.
