Do your mean Red Oxide (as in primer...more brown than red) or actual red? Cole's pick-em-up is kind of a flat red, I guess:
paul atkins (the upholstery guy) had a suede bright red 46-48 style ford coupe for a couple years.....i did a 40 willys coupe for a customer in flat black ......used chromabase paint with flatner.....came out looking better than dp90.....but atkins was still one of the neater suede cars.......
i wonder what id have to use for it to be a brighter red like the first truck and that car id want more of a blood red though
House of Kolors, UK 11, Apple Red. Depending on what base color you spray it over, you're able to lighten or darken it. There's a couple of blood redish colors in there that are nice. Then you'd just use a satin clear over it, rather than gloss.

I can't for the life of me figure out why someone would pay the buck$ for the most expensive color pigment and then make it permanently look like he didn't bother doing the finish rub out and polish..
