OK guys (and Gals) I've come accross what I believe is an early to mid 60's Cragar Wheel. Its a 2 piece wheel with steel outer and cast aluminum inners (like the original S/S), I thought the might be the G/T series but the center caps screw on with 5 screws on the front, kind of like the first American Torque Thrust wheels. I can't seem to find any info like Model or name. I have 5 of these 15X6 / 5 0n 4 3/4 that have never been mounted. they still have the mounting instructions glued to the rims. If you think you,ve seen this type before and can remember the name or modle, I sure would appreciate a note. THANKS!!!!

I know the Cragar S/X like the G/T series have the caps that tighten in from the back side of the wheel. Years ago I once saw an ad out of an old Hot Rod Mag. from the late 60's for a set of Cragar wheels that look liked yours and I remember them being called "*******".
Check out this VVV thread below and look for the wheel in post # 62, I think thats the one!

There were a few makers that did them that way. I have E/T's like that on my comet and for my flat bottons trailer.

Those are Cragar GT. I had a set just like them on my 55 Chevy in 1971. Mine had the screw on center caps just like yours. I bought mine new when I worked for Goodyear. :D

They may have changed the center cap style on the later models.

I also ran a set of these on the back of my '40 coupe. Mine were definely 15s, and I think may have been 15 x 7. They have a very sharp peak to the spoke. I think I may still have one or two in the attic. As I recall, I started to hand sand and polish one over the co**** of a long, cold winter. I always liked them because of the steel rim, just like the early Cragar wheels on the 65 Shelby.

Guys here might think I'm NUTS!!

But I put Pony Car "Bullitts" on my '67 Camaro 350SS/RS car ONLY b/ GM has NEVER re-popped a good wheel for our old cars like Ford finally did!'....

Moser's done the dirty deed for me FINE back then.

    I have my Fenton 14" x 7" and 9" mounted w/ E- and L-60's up on my garage's shelves.
