Right you are Cosmo. I assumed too much. I would like to know where you got the kits. I will rebuild anything I can get the parts for.
The pump on my 53 truck doesn't have the glass bowl attached, it sits up top before the carb. My pump had a hole in the diaphragm that sits on top of the pump, I took an old car inner tube and cut it to fit, the truck runs like a champ. Also the noise could be the leather washer in the water pump. If you grab the fan blades and try to move them back and forth that will tell you alot, it will probably tell you that's where the noise is coming from.
