We have this 35 Dodge that we are picking at for some time now.It was once mine but I sold it to a friend. The car was complete less two rear fender.Finding a set for a 35 dodge is not easy and if you did find a set you would pay a arm and a leg for them.Well this is what I come up with. I started off with a set of used VW rear fender. The price was right...Free! With the help of a few peices of tin and some basic body tool I cam up with these. Not bad for a used VW fender.
Great Job, Since Dodge is Part of Chrylser Now and They are in With Mercedes Benz who are German, Using German Donor Sheetmetal is very acceptable. Or what you got was just what you needed. Finished Product is excellent.
A fitting place for a VW fender to wind up. On "The Mighty Dodge". Al Bundy would be proud; you saving a Dodge like that. Excellent! pigpen
No reason why not. looks good too. The VW was a 1937 production car made in the "airflow" style so it's parts are probably real close to Dodge shapes. I used part of a VW fender, (Wife found it in a trash can on trash day, a half mile away and drug it home, said I might need it for something some day, so I did) for the tranny tunnel hump in my 40 GMC.
Nice work on the fender! DrJ...........now THAT woman is a KEEPER if she scouts out,AND DRAGS HOME,old sheetmetal for ya
Wooden floor it is.It is a garage I built when I was 13.Floor is 2x4`s.I keep a close eye on it when welding.Any heavy welding is done out by the door. As for the fender. Thanks for the kind words.I enjoy using body parts from other car/trucks when I can.It is the part of hot rodding I enjoy the most. fitzee
