I have a 351W in my 57 F100 with the original straight axle and I'm looking for a set of headers that will clear the steering box. What have you used? Got pics? Thanks, John

I got a 302 in mine and factory 5.0 mustang headers give you the most clearance than any other header out there and they will bolt to Windsor heads..

You mean like these? Not in my truck, not even close. I can't even get the driver's header up to the head. The collector wants to share the exact same place as the steering box. Do you have any pics of your setup?

My truck is a little older (49), but I had to run a set of the center dump style headers in my truck because the Mustang style headers would dump into my pedals, and the full length would run into the steering box. I picked up my headers for $25 on Craigslist locally. I did have to carve out a little on the front corner of the motor mounts because of where they dump, but the starter fits right in. I will have to pull the header to replace it, but it fits!

HA! Try using a 383 in a 60 ford pickup with a cordoba clip and tube headers. Holy ****! You can't even see the starter or steering box!

No, not exactly like those, the ones pictured are the MAC style ones, the FACTORY 1994-1995 mustang ones have smaller primaries and have dimples on the driver side collector and primaries to give extra room to clear the box. You gotta also keep in mind that a Windsor is slightly wider and taller than a 302 as well. Sorry I dont have any pics but I can take some if youd like and PM them to you..
Here are what the ones that im talking about look like..

You might have to cut the flange off to give some extra clearance, another alternative are K code manifolds that flow just as good as SOME headers..

Summit sells their own brand of block hugger headers that are center dump. I've got a set on my 289 in my 52 F1 panel. Nicely made and only $100. Way cheaper than Sandersons.
