I'm Building a 64 bel air wagon thats getting a 63 front end, I'd like any pics, ideas or suggestions you guys got. I'm getting rid of the ugly square tailights and frenching in stacked 59 caddy tailights, I have a mint mint mint green interior out of a four door 63 sedan, might paint the car a heavy green flake with a white roof, air ride (gasp!) with ***anium drag blocks and for the rolling stock-- I dunno yet, maybe black steelies with rings and chrome lugs, or chrome reverse with spider caps? either way i'd like a set of 2" whites.
Car is actually pretty wierd. It's a 64 Bel air 9 p***enger, but has factory tinted gl*** and power steering, power tailgate but it's not an impala. [IMG]
I got a motor built for it, I originally wanted a 500 caddy but I ended up going SBC with a cam, finned valve covers early style intake with oil filler neck, cause i'm trying to budget everything. I would like to eventually get myself a six pack setup and remove the hood. GANGSTER!!

    Thanks for the help!

sounds pretty cool. got any pics? i LOVE 63 Impalas. it was actually my first NICE car. 2 door hardtop Impala with a 327/TH350 (283/powerglide originaly). i never much cared for the flat front and rear of the 64s. ou should graft on a 63 rear section too [IMG]. i'm sure that would be a REAL ***** though.
i've heard guys say that the 63 front won't fit the 64 but i do know for a fact that the doors on teh two door hardtops are THE SAME. even if the front clip does not bolt right up i suspect it would'nt take much work to make it fit. i MIGHT have a few 63 parts layin around my folks place if ya need anything. let me know...

Thanks man, another hamber (sk****r?) has done it already, it was in Ck Deluxe #12. i've been chatting with him and EVERYTHING bolts right up. I was going to try and find a 63 tailgate, but they are really hard to find, no to mention i would have to graft 63 quarters on it. as soon as i get around to it I'll post some pics. you wouldn't have a grille guard would you?
    Thanks!

nice idea.if your getting rid of the 64 front end, i would be interested in the front trim on the hood.i need one for my 64 wagon.also, every model wagon except the biscayne (the model i have) came with a power tailgate as an option.good luck, jimmy [IMG]

Now why would you want to ruin a perfectly good '64 by *******izing it with a '63 front end?

All you need to do is a little kustom work on the grille and bumper...

40Stude, now that's looking good! I've got a soft spot in my heart (head?) for those big old Impalas. Through the course of my life, I've had 3 '84's and 2 '62's. Belonged to Late Great Chevys for years. Lots of repro parts are available, and good stuff can still be found at swaps. I'd plan on a custom interior, the repro stuff is way expensive.

um, well,...not "TOOTING" my horn but if you want to know something just ask!!! i have a '63 2 door impala hardtop, 2- '63 biscayne wagons, 2 '64 impala super sports...one a 409 car, 1 plain impala 2 door, 1 '64 biscayne wagon, being converted to an impala wagon, and yes it IS a biscayne with a power back window!!!, and a ****load of parts!!! ---impala bobs--- has all the repro parts for the interior's of wagons, if you want to go that route. it was the same cost to do repro. interior, as it was a custom interior with a local shop so i am going "reproduction" i have restored about 15 impalas for myself, 1958-1964, and am fairly knowledgeable on them, BUT i am sure their are others who have more knowledge than me!!! hit me up with a p.m. if you need ANY help.....ken

Sorry I already sold the complete frontend, I would have posted it on the Hamb, but you're not allowed posting NON CUSTOM stuff!! Ryan already gave me **** for that. [IMG]

As for basterdizing a 64, lets get a poll going here to see whats a better looking frontend!!!!!!!!

KoolKemp- I'm picking up the motor next week, I'm ****ed with the valvecovers though, the cheapest price I got to polish them was $500!!!!!! I think I'll just paint them and polish the fins.
