I need the paint tint code for my 1960 F100, can anybody help please. The color is called Corinthian White. If you know what the RED is called and the code for that also, Id be happy to know.
You could be right, I was only going by a note I found in the glove compartment which stated the white was Corinthian but I am not sure at all. Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks for the link, but I dont see what I need, which is the tint code so I can mix it myself. Is there website where that I can go to say put the Make and Model and year of my Ford in and get the colors offered and the mixing tint code for the particular color I select???
Russ, I doubt this helps but if you were buying paint from PPG this is their code: <TABLE id=AutoNumber1 style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: #000080; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" borderColor=#000080 height=623 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="61%" border=1><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle width="11%" height=16>M</TD><TD align=middle width="73%" height=16>Corinthian White</TD><TD align=middle width="16%" height=16>8238</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
I appreciate everybodies help, but what I am chasing is the tint mix which tells you how much say white base with the measurementss of each other tint color needed to come up with the correct final color. Say for the Corinthian White it may start off as 1 gallon tint of white base and then add say 3 drops of black and 1 drop of yellow tint to get the correct final color.
So after all that and not being a paint guy, I guess the correct way to describe what I am after is the "mixing formula". Any way I have found a start which ID's all the Ford colors for my year 1960. I am hoping somebody can pick up on it now. <TABLE border=1 width=800 bgColor=#e9e9e9><TBODY><TR><TD bgColor=#ffffcc colSpan=4>Ford color codes are normally always two characters, i.e. UA, <YN>. Poly means metallic. And, you might talk to the guys at SpaceAge Paint in the Phoenix area. They have LOTS of OLD info and books and may be able to help you.
Paul, I actually think you are on to something with those numbers, but we need somebody to translate them into a formula mix. Thanks buddy.
Don't know if your using dupont or ppg but heres their color library #'s, Dupont-1-800-338-7668 PPG 1-800-263-3205,Give them a call ask and follow the recorded messages and ask them for the formulas and amount, they could also fax them to you, good luck....Rich
What brand of paint do you intend to mix the paint from? A Dupont formula will do you no good if you are mixing Sherwin Williams. But, one paint mfg's formula NUMBER might be able to be cross-referenced with another brand's formula NUMBER for the Ford color code.
