Hey guys, just got back from this show on Lake Ponchatrain. Great turn out, parking was a hike from the show, and the heat index is 105 in the shade. Here's a sample of the HAMB friendly cars that came out.
Wow! I remember a couple of those cars from 20+ years ago! The little green '54 Ford sedan with the green metal flake interior used to make a hell of alot of racket tearing out after a meet! The Purple Haze Corvette used to be painted a heavy flake black. I used to see it at every show including the Rivergate (now a horrid casino!) World of Wheels. It was always towed by a hopped up '57 Nomad! I just realized I need to get out more often!
It was my first show in Louisiana, so it was all new to me. Purple Haze was oddly badd***. Both my old lady and myself loved that car. There were a lot of nice rides down there on and off topic
Well **** - I spent the day working on my shed and not at this car show. I gotta pay attention to the dates more!
Supposedly its annual...this was the 8th. It's held at the Ponchartrain Center in Kenner, LA http://saveourlake.org/car-show.php
Man I got to get out more, I didn't think there was much of a car scene in New Orleans. Looks like I was just plain wrong. Scott
Hey Scott http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=363013 Also, do a search for "Spankster". Charlie's got a build thread that's pretty cool. Man, I've been meaning to contact him.
