Working on my '47 Ford. Wondering if someone could offer a part # for the thermostats. Looks like they just sit in the outlet on the head? The radiator hose holds them in? Whats the opinion of running without thermostats? Thanks Don

I drill the edge of them and drill and tap the end of the water neck 6-32. don’t trust them just sitting there. Yes run them………water will p*** threw the radiator to fast and not cool.

The radiator hose holds them in. I am running 160* thermostats in my flathead. The motorad part number is 20260.

I have them in the hoses without a problem and without screwing them down, but I also have chrome upper pipes.

I bought the 170 degree stats from one of the big places that charges close to $20 a pop for 59a stats and took them to napa to show the owner. Now I know you can use a napa 111 or a stant 14157 for $4 :D

I did drill a hole in each to make it easier to get the air out though.
