l can't believe he was scrappng this. Some one started to cut it up.
They hacked up the roof and cut the hinges off and butchered the back doors. This is my way of saving a small piece of history.

l wanted real steel and something with personalty and history.
Rougher than what l was planning to start with. Beats a fiberglass
    car though:eek:

So, this is my latest project. lt's 1932 plymouth that was a 4 door and me and my friends cut 8" out of what was left of the back doors and now it's a 2 door. Since the roof was hacked we cut that part out when we shortend the car. We cut it down to fit on a shell valley custom made chassis. the chassis and most parts on this project are left from another car body l sold.

    Power will be a 355 sbc, 700R4 and a 9" ford rear-end packing 3:25 gears. A 4 link with a panhard bar for rear suspension and a
M ll I.F.S with rack & pinion. QA 1 coil shocks on all 4 corners and 4-wheel disc brakes.

The car will be fenderless. Yes, l know most here chose straight axles for the fenderless rides. But since l had the chassis and lots parts left over, so l put it to good use..

l am building it with what l have on hand, hence the M ll stuff, 32 ford grille and some stuff l been hoarding for 15 or more years.

Hot rodders have been building cars outta what's aviable for decades. That's what were doing with this one.

  4. Yeah, but he saved a deuce! He's using what he's got to build a rod, so kudos for him....he's recycling more than the old shell. He can flip it and go on to bigger and better things if he desires! Or not! He acknowledges that not all will like what he did, he's just showing us what he did with what he had.

    Good on you, Skull!

    Skull,
Congratulations on a great save! These Mopars from the early thirties are well worth saving. Enjoy that car for a long time!

ya, l'dda loved to but he was in cali on a road trip.

l also got 3 truck loads of T parts he was scraping out. sold them real cheap to others so they could build something outta them.. unfortunally, most of the T parts wee only good to make R@T Rods outta. they were real rusty and crusty, but l am still glad they did something with the parts instead of being shredded or crushed:eek:

Wow 32 plymouth's are hard to find parts for I bought a rear section from 32 plymouth 2 door sedan and thats all I've been able to find.

would love to but,,,,, the chassis was already set up for chevy stuff.
also, everything l own is chevy powered, so its also a matter of economics.
l have tons of parts for the chevy stuff and zero for mopars.

being retired and a severly limited budget, the build on this car is using what l have already..l aplogize to the mopar guys:(

l do like mopars. l built one for the local 3/8 mile circle track. l raced in the bone stock class. it was a 1967 charger, 383 motor and it hauled butt:D set track record several times and always finished in the top five. l won a lot of races those two years. then got a job traveling and quite racing and started building hot rods.

I understand budget- i've got a Ford Falcon gasser with a small block mopar,727,8 3/4 in her. But if i had a bigger budget, it would be a Falcon with a Calliopi injected Hemi, clutchflite, Dana 60 lol....

Good luck with her! Looks like she'll be a winner.

    here is my temporary fix--holes!!!

l want to drive her a little this year and l really don't want to take the chance and ruin my new grille insert. so we drilled 60 holes in the grille shell for air-flow, then will put some screen door mesh behind the holes so debris won't fly into and kill my raditor.

fun day at the car show.

now the fun is over and time to get back to seriously kicking it up a notch and get runnin' for summer.
monday will blow apart to start bodywork on the doors. need to adjust them as they do not open or close well as they have been sprung. the motor and tranmission the runs goes in and the mock up stuff come out, wiring, etc.
looks like a real car sittin' in the lot with all the other cars.

that's my red 69 SWB chevy truck next to the plymouth.

l let lots of kids set in the car yesterday, this made MY day.

at the show yesterday my help's girlfriend came over, she works with mentally handicapped adults and she brought one of her clients she takes care of. she said "andy loves cars and on his weekend outing we came to see'em". l let him sit in the car and he thought he was in heaven:D
he liked that a lot and it made me feel good. he could not touch any of the other cars so letting him sit in mine was special to him and her.
