Thanks,i finally got her humming on the Big end:D:rolleyes: .I added a 1 inch open carb spacer ,Jetted it up a few more #'s all around, and preloaded the hydraulic lifters more and Bingo.I gained 400 rpm's .Its the first time i had ever been to this track.Great people ,but no traction at all and the weather was awfull (90 degrees and the humidity of a swamp out there).I couldnt even get a 1.5 60' foot all night and i tried everything .It spun for atleast ten feet every launch and that was with me leaving at only 3000 rpm .I accomplished my mission though ,i gained more rpm so its not breaking up in the lights like before and nosing over.It can go all the way to 6200 pulling clean ,instead of falling off at 5800 as it always has in the past. Now all i need is sum ideal track and weather conditions to set a new best ET and MPH .I cant wait for that cool dry Fall air to get here at the DOTD ...

BTW ,this track has been around since 1964 .It would be one cool *** place for a Nostalgia event .The guys that operate it are really into old Hotrods and were digging my Dart (they dont see many old Mopars there). The track itself is smooth *** Hell in both lanes ,just needs to be preped better for the first 60' .It has the same Vibe as Litttle River Academy IMO :)...

Im usually in the mid to high 7.20's with mid 1.5 60 foots ,but due to the heat and high humidity with a greezy starting line i was stuck in the low 7.30's with 1.60 to 1.64 60 foots all night.Im convinced with me getting it to run better in the lights (as you can hear in the vid) ,i should be in the high 7.10's in cool dry air and a flypaper starting line ...

Not enough cars there for that to happen ,lol.I bet there were only 10-12 cars there this night ,and 10-20 minutes between cars with just crickets and beer can tabs making noise .Half of the racers were in farm trucks with mud grips tires on them running 11 seconds in the 1/8 ,no **** .There was a backhalved 70 Nova there with a Big Block that got in the 5.90's .There was also a rear engine dragster that was nice enough to lay down sum rubber to the 330' mark for us but shut it off at that point ,and wasnt racing for sum reason :D .I have heard about this track since i was a kid ,so i made the 80 mile drive to check it out for myself. Was alot of fun regardless and now i can say i've been down it .Redline is next on my "to do list".I have been there ,but havent raced there yet .I hear the traction is killer there ...

    Should have been at Denton.:D
Glad to hear you got some more revs out of it without spending any money, now if we could just talk you into a 904 instead of that PG.
Does the Stephens family still own the track? Good people.

I managed to get it to cross the line without nosing over and breaking up finally,so im happy .I spent $20 for the spacer and gaskets ,and $8 for the jetts ,plus an hour of my time to readjust the valves and do the carb work. Not an unwise investment i'd say.I was planning to upgrade the cam to a solid ,but im gunna wait till the motor needs freshening and pull it out and do it all at the same time.I really dont want to rev it past 6200 anyway with a stock 5 qaurt capacity pan .Im affraid its gunna **** the pan dry with only 5 qaurts of oil and the HV pump (my eyes were peeled on the oil pressure in the lights ,but it was holding strong at 6200),plus that cheap chinese 4 inch stroke cast crank is on my mind now.I agree with you on the 904 trans swap ,but i will surely run into sum traction issues with that lower first gear and the tiny slicks.I didnt catch the names of the owners ,but they were real freindly and layed back towards me ,as was everybody that i talked to racing there also.I have been to Denton many times ,and just wanted to see what Paris was like. Now i know :)...

I figured you guys would get a kick out of my thread ***le :D:p.I hate to admit it but i think i have reached the limit of the combination of parts on the Dart.I have tuned it about all it can be IMO.Now if this thing would just wear out ,so i would have an excuse to spend sum $$$ upgrading on it .Thats what i get for getting a Mopar as a racecar ,they run forever .BTW thanks to all for the congrats on my tuning success :)...
