Been working around the clock to get it done for my sons graduation, unfortunatelly I did discover a water crack issue with the flathead, its pressure in the water system! Now I have to find another engine in a hurry to save the summer :-(

Fill the radiator, close cap, run the engine engine up to operating temp, shut it off.
After it finishes puking and cools off, open the cap.
THAT is the level you should keep the water at to eliminate the problem.

Nice car. I would be hopeful and follow Pasenda HotRod's advice. I am pretty inexperienced in a lot of this but learned through a couple of radiator puking sessions that my flathead radiator really wanted to be down about three inches. Hope it works out.

this might be a stupid question but it happend to me is your radiator pressurized because if its stock it wont be pressurized and it will poor out the over flow all the time

Perfect, just perfect!!! What did you do for front shocks? I went thru some of your old posts, but didn't see any pics of what you had done. I'm building a similiar ch***is myself, and am still debating on how I'm going to do this..
    Congrats on the build!!

    Looks great.

Did you try re-torquing the heads or did you actually find and see a crack? Could it be a head gasket and not a crack? That's a pretty big leap to take unless you have torn it down.

Maybe, maybe it,s a light in the tunnel. I drove it again today with less water in it, and it would hold it better. :)

That sure sounds good. As Pasadena said fill it up and drive it. As the coolant expands some will come out. Don't worry about it as long as the temp gauge says things are fine and it doesn't boil over. Mine would start to run about 195 after a while and I knew it was low on coolant...I added some more and it was back to 180.

    Remember block cracks don't heal.:D
