I overheard a conversation the other day that kind of rang a bell, does anyone else remember Mickey Thompson creating a form of dragracing in a stadium setting that used a cable attached to the race cars for the purpose of stopping them within the stadium??? I seem to remember that it was an outgrowth of his stadium off road series and that the races may have been on mud or at least dirt. I couldn't find any references here or using the normal search engines. So maybe I'm wrong and it didn't happen, but if it did, let me know. Thanks.

I'm thinking it was around 85-87 or so, I remember it being in the back of hot rod mag. It was sand drags in a stadium along with the off road trucks. It stands out in my head because I remeber the pic of a biker going over the bars when the cable stopped him.
