Thinking of getting some radirs for my caddy. Lets say 65 DeVille 4 door. I have some 3" Wide whites laying around. I have never seen anything but narrow whites with radirs. Any thoughts? Car will be white flake after paint, on bags with bellflower tips. And I know, do what you like, just looking for some input. Buy new tires, or use the wides?

  7. A while back my buddy bought a black '40 chevy with some cragars on it. First thing he did was slap on some wide whites and Radirs. WOW, the car looked cool. I never would have thought of that combination - BUT IT WORKED!!

I'd use them with the wides ones. If I had narrow ones, I'd buy wide ones. Radirs and wides are the exact combo I plan ro use on the 51

not a fan of wides whites on Radirs. More so on a mid 60's ride.

The car is running stock rims and covers with 1" ww. Just some radials i picked up at the local garage to get it up and moving. Must confess, the caddy is a 67. Very close to the 65, just different grille. Wide whites may be a bit much. May just order the radirs and toss them on for now. They will look better than the 18" wires that were on her. Thanks for the input.

  12. Yea, wide whites on a 67 Caddy would look like a pimp car in a '70s exploitation film or something in a Shriner's parade. Wide whites are out of place on anything made after '59. I'd go with narrow whites. I have Cragar Eliminators and narrow whites on my '63 Mercury Monterey wagon, looks good and tastefull. WWWs would make my wagon look like a clown car.

  13. Also, the Cragar Eliminator 500s look close to Radirs for 1/3 the price, $120 from Jegs or Summit-

They come in grey, black, or polished centers, and they also have a 3 rib out now

So, would we go with Radirs or Astros on a '54 Riviera that's already got Coker wide whites on it.....?

Thanks for the tip on the Cragars! I am currently laid off, so saved dollars are appreciated. Besides, if I were a pimp here, I would be too poor for white walls.

The dual pin whites are just sick!!!! If they were not 190 a piece at coker, I would have them! Looks like its time to sell a guitar!

That's a very interesting looking RPU. How do you remove the top on it? :)
