I had the same dream but the blonde wouldn't let me in the car after having my way with one of the ducks. Cool car though.
if you care, this is my dad's 59. it's an original 283/glide car with a wonderbar radio. he's had it for 46 years. it's got 83,000 original miles on it, the engine has never been rebuilt (we did have the heads reworked to run unleaded gas), the trans has never been rebuilt and it's as original as it can be and still be driven somewhat regularly. he had a dual quad, 4 speed 58 before this car, with the same paint scheme. he gutted the interior, tweaked it up a little and used to shut people down with it around the claymont, de area way back when.
George shot allot of images for the magazines and for his reference back in the mid 50's till the 70's and has thousands and thousands shots from all over the states.. I get to be in charge of them there are more images in the archive page on the Barris kustom site.. and you should check out the Kustom Photography of George barris DVD.. its a must for people that love old images.. www.barriskustomcity.com Now back to Corvettes This is a little newer but I love the cover. Another Barris shot not so custom but a cool shot anyway..
I am not a vett guy but that white 59 is just outstanding its a time when GM built real cars and cared about there image
thanks. i remember when i was a little guy, riding around on my dad's lap, steering while he worked the throttle and brakes. i used to hide in the trunk and pull the lid closed. i took my first serious girlfriend for a ride in that car and all she could do is ***** about it messing her hair up (obviously not a keeper). so many memories of that car, and we're still making more with it!!
It's funny you post that picture, I've always visioned having a stingray like that, same blue and white with chrome mags and whitewalls, tube grille, and no bumper. I didn't know it ever really existed!
Ryan, I think it is safe to say you want a custom 'vette. Do it, more people should...I do not know why so few do it and talk about something that gets into the crawl space of the restro crowd like a real hot rod should.
Corvette's always look better customized.....I even like the Corvette Summer car....haha! This vette ****ING rules.....probably my all-time favorite Vette....Baldwin-Motion vette is a close 2nd.... Mmmmm..........Balwin-Motion Phase III....
One of my favorites, they had a nice article on in in Rodders Journal a couple of years ago. It went through a couple of different stages. Didnt it have pump by hand hydraulics up front?
'67 435hp tripower 427, close ratio 4spd Coupe. Goodwood Green, black leather interior.......................It's been awhile and I was comfortable with it being out of my life...................then you HAD to post this....................*******!!! After a number correct restoration it went to Saudia Arabia and some filthy rich Arab's kid.................NOW.........I want it back!!! Frank
I didn't have the dream, but I have the issue you're talking about. There's a couple 63 coupes, but I believe that a guy named George Barris was busy removing the split rear window and adding extra taillights!!! I bought a 64 11 years later and kept it for another 23. Fun car and some great memories. Thanks,Cat
We are all closet Corvette freaks. I remember being little and up riding or should I say laying in the back of my dad's then new '74. That blue one ROCKS!
Very nice car! How can anybody not like that? Corvettes are a lot of fun, I've owned a few. To the Corvette haters, have you ever owned one?
custom vette, hot blonde and still took time to feed the ducks, you truly are a sick *******..........
Donkey shine! This is good stuff. I might wind up getting a 'vette some day, if it looks like either the X-sonic or Rickman's 'vette with the Olds.
The park in the OP photograph is in Inglewood, CA, and I remember going there around 1971 to test R/C boats when I worked for Mattel. Pretty place, but the fragrance of duck **** was overwhelming.
I was digging those custom jobs back when. a rear shot of my custom '66 from a long time ago, customized by someone in ohio/
Yeh. I missed Star Wars. Caught C.S. though. NoSurf; LOL- that is livin' the dream. Ha! p.s. That's borderline Ryan. Stingrays rock with all the suity bits taken off and jus' hot stuff left. Also the time must now be right for some fade- paint 'Vettes to be done. p.p.s. I know a long- haired freaky bloke that beat Lief Garret in a skate contest at the local shopping mall. Ooops- that was O/T. Sorry..
Holy Balls!!!! ^^^^^ That Vette Rules all get out!!!!!!! And she's a split! Oh man that would just kick so much *** to roll that these days.....****.....
