I had Hurst Mystery Shifter in my '62 Bel Air with a built 301. Biggest piece of junk ever made.

  2. My first car was a 56 Ford auto. I put a 3 speed in it and had to have a floor shift.I got a cheapy from J.C. Whitney or Warshawsky. It had a round screw in handle. Everytime I tried to shift hard from 1st to 2nd the shifter would loosen up, spin around an crack my knuckles on the dash. Ahh. the good ole days.
