summit rotisserie

Just bought a summit rotisserie can't seem to get the body balanced.Does anyone have a idea or live in middle Ga to look at one.Tha instructions do not give any answers except to put it together.Thanks fro the help Don

I dont know about the summit rotisserie..but i do know on the one my buddy has you have to try and find the center of gravity or the center of mass (probably the same) of the body. and try to place the axles of your rotisserie at those points or as close as possible.

 

I bought a rotisserie from Accessible Systems out of Johnson City, Tn. at the Moultrie, GA swap meet by prearranged agreement. Used it to do the frame and body/paint work on my Brookville '31 A roadster. Then I sold it to 2 guys who bought it in partnership. One restores Corvettes to show as a hobby and the other operates a blasting and powder coating business in Zebulon, GA. I understand that the Rot. is now in his shop there in Zebulon holding his Camaro, or it was the last time I asked him about it.
Haven't seen the Summit rot. in person, but the illustration in the catalog looks a lot like the Acces. unit, and I had no problems with using it for frame only, body only, or body and frame. Just gotta work with the adjustments to compensate for the center of gravity.

Don't know just where you are, but your avatar says "middle GA", and Zebulon is a helluva lot closer to mid GA than Brad's place.

If I remember correctly
I used the measurements from a 55 chevy on my 52 and it worked fine
I think it was 15" up for the pivot point from the bottom of the floor.
Do a search on chevy talk in the 49-52 forum and tri5 forum. It has been discussed over there.

Like I said in the first post, send me a PM on how to reach you. Probably be good to send me a phone # and I can call you and tell you how to contact Tim or Eddie, the 2 guys who own that rot.
I don't know what kinda car you're working on, but the C/G will vary for all. You just gotta feel it out! If you find it to be top heavy in the rot. then raise the pivot point, try to keep front and rear close to equal. If it's bottom heavy, then lower the pivots.
