I'm planning on using a 4100 on my 292 Y-block. I've heard really good things about reliability. Just wanted to hear some input from people using them. Lets hear em. I need to add that the 292 has been bored to a 301, with an Isky RPM-300 cam 112 degree centerline, 228 @.050 .448 lift intake and exhaust. "G" heads that have been gasket matched, larger truck exhaust manifolds. I'll be running a C4 trans.

Fine carb. Not much in the way of tuning options due to a lack of jets but you can use ordinary Holley power valves to tune the power enrichment. You could helicoil the jet sockets to take Holley jets, although for your app you can probably do OK with a stock setup. A 108 would work well on a 292. Accell squiter does not have a lot of volume, but should be OK for you. Very reliable. Simple. No reason to send it to any high-priced rebuilder unless you just gotta have pretty.

I should've added the engine mods originally. I'm looking for reliability and drivability more than all out performance. Also currently has a C4 w/ manual valvebody and 2500 stall. I'm planning on changing it out for a not so aggressive C4 with a lower stall.

  4. Really realiable carb. I had one on a 306 H-P 289 and it worked good. However I did have a 715 Holley on the same engine and it was much faster but not quite as realiable. The 4100 should produce pretty good gas mileage too. I hope it works out for you >>>>.
