I found me a what I was told was a 34 chevy truck.
I bought it primarily for the tin. very rust free truck dug out of a ladies front yard in San Marcos Texas. The wood is shot but the tin is very nice...

damn the top is too tall aint it [IMG]

Its unbelievable how solid it is. The wood is all rotten but the metal is super nice. I found two small rust hols in the driver rocker when it fell loose from the wood bnut thats it.

it's a 31/32 chevy. One for sale here local looks almost identical to that one. Cool project!

Living on the Texas Coast does have some drawbacks to it! I love the view, but its Hell on metal. Rust starts everywhere.

Nice truck. Are you going to use a bed, or will it have just a fuel tank sitting above the rear end?

Looks like a nice piece to start with, although you'll miss out on the fun of dealing with rust and spend the time supporting the tin you have.

i have a model a bed that is kinda rough for 100 bucks the sides are good and the front panel is solid the tops need work so do the rails under it but if your going to channel the bed you would cut them anyways.

This is by far the nicest one I have dealt with. The last car I did I replaced the lower 6" of metal all the way around the car....

I was gonna say that doesn't look much like a '34 grill.
    But it's a winner.

anyone got any tips or tricks to squaring this cab up in order to weld it all back together. I like the idea of hanging it from the rafters in my shop but my shop has a ceiling in it so that wont work. The roof has completely seperated from the windshield and cowling. So it will be in basically 2 pieces once removed from the frame...

get someone to help you hold it then tack weld the doors shut. then tack in your bracing, and open the doors back up.
kinda crude description, but you get the point.

It's a '32. Chevy used the previous year car sheet metal on the trucks, and that grill and hood is the same as a '31 p***enger car. So it's a '32. Get it? [IMG]
