I don't have one for sale but If I was checking for the going price I'd be doing a Craigslist search to see what the asking prices were across the country.
I think the last one I saw locally had an asking price of around 600 for
    engine and trans.
Search Tempest brings up prices that range from 300 to 1800 for allegedly running and usable engine and trans combinations. Stock that is. Several in the 1000 range.

Two Fried Chickens and a Coke..... :D

Seriously though... I've bought a couple running 440 engines pretty cheap...

I paid $800 for a 1968 440 HP, the '375 horse' model with no ******. This engine stock with an OD four speed and 3.23 gears ran 13.9s @ 100 in my Challenger...

Paid $400 for a 1973 motorhome 440 with the forged crank. It's the low performance '350 horsepower' version. It came with the ******, but motorhome trannies are near worthless because of the fixed rear yoke...

We've sold some out of our derby cars in the past for $300 non-running, complete.

I imagine a running one that needs refreshing we'd sell for $500. All depending on what we paid for the car to begin with. As long as we broke even on the car, we're happy!

My ****** is a motorhome one, the driveshaft shop just added a slip yoke to the rear end side of the shaft. Beefy U-joints on the front, I tell ya.
