Heya...just found this forum - looks like a cool place to be. I'm restoring a 63 Rambler cl***ic, and have found myself out to 'save' any paddock or barn stashed AMCs in our small (very small) part of the world.......which has limited knowledge on these type of cars. ;) Be nice to catch up with like minded others..

I love AMCs. I've owned lots of them. Right now I got three in my yard. Last year I had a 63 Rambler Cl***ic as a daily driver. I bought it for 500 bucks, body was rock solid. I drove it 7000 miles (car had close to 200k when I bought it). The motor was very tired and ****ed down oil at a fierce rate (40 miles to the quart of oil). Since I hated filling it all the time I would shove in an extra quart or more over the full mark. I think that is what finally did the motor in. It ran when I sold it but had a bad knock. Other than that the only thing that went wrong with it was the generator. A 20 dollar rebuild was all it took to get back on the road :)

Kia ora from Papakura, where tagging is considered High Art!

I've had a bit to do with Kenosha Kadillaks during my misspent youth in So Cal, so sing out if you have any questions.

awesome.....there are heaps of Kiwi's here! To tell you the truth - this forum is so big I'm a little lost
PhilJohnson - your '63 is/was in better nick than mine. Nothing much seems to go wrong with them tho. Mine's got 196 ohv eng, done 125,000miles - no smoke, runs sweet - although there's a leak in the headgasket (of course!) which is next on the list.

Nah, not too many AMC types - but theres a blown big-block Chev powered '59 (I think) Rambler in Dunedin.

And 2 real tidy AMX were at Musclecar Madness this year.

Welcome aboard. I always thought that Australia was the Mainland, with New Zealand being the Eastern Islands.:D:):):);)

S***dog - for sure mate, I go every year - hopefully I'll have the rambler finished, cos I'm sick of takin the toyota. There's a green AMX just been bought into Wellington a couple of months ago, the guy bought it with him from the states - tidy as car too.

Cal - howdy mate, fancy seein you here!
