I'm an old fart that saw my first HOT ROD in a freshman shop class in about 1968. A senior was building a coupe and that did it for me. I've owned alot off cars over the years, muscle, grocery getters, you get the drift. I always remembered that coupe though. Well a couple of years back I got lucky and came into a little money and spent it on a 36 Plymouth 5 window coupe, and a 40 Ford sedan. The sedan is a driver. It's a Street Rod and is fun to drive and work on, but the day of the coupe is comming on fast. The old girl needs a lot of work but thats ok, as that will only make her mine, not the guy's I bought her from. Two years ago I was at The Hunnert Car Pile Up and I had a cammed up, uncorked, Nailhead go past me, [you know the feel'in]. So I got busy and found a 225 with 401 sit'in in the weeds and bought it. The thing was so heavy that I got my money back when I scrapped the rest of the car. It has a 400 trans and I think one of those variable pitch torque converters. I have alot of research to do on that. I wanted to row my own but stick set ups look pretty pricey,[still need to eat]. Itlooks like I'm long winded too! Greetings All.
Thanks for the hello guy's. That was my first attempt at getting on a forum. I'm not sure how much any one wants to read at any one time, but I have got a load of questions about my nailhead and that torque converter. Like I said last night coupes do it for me. I see this one as a tail dragger, with full skirts, sombreros up front, lots of snort, and to much attitude. Kinda like me on a bad day!
