That's exactly what I was thinking, non-stock paint scheme that looks stock. Can't go wrong with Cragar S/S on a tri-five. Pretty car. Butch./56sedandelivery.
It's a picture of a car that someone is using on craigslist as a scam. Selling for $5000 or so. You all know the one that they say if you send money ebay will look after everything so you don't get ripped off. But you don't send to ebay they want it sent to them. They even say that you can't go see it right now because it's at the shippers and that they will even pay the shipping. I've seen it on like 5 or 6 citys and reported it each time I saw it. I guest there must be some people that are still dumb enough to fall for this scam as they are still trying it.
So actually it doesn't matter who the car belongs to. The pic was just stolen off the web and used in an ad. Whoever owns the car has no idea that their pic is being used and isn't going to be able to help. Odds are high that your money is long gone out of the country.
You're right, I'm sure. It popped up on the San Antonio Craigslist and the guy insisted that the deal be done thru eBay Motors financial dept and a broker there would handle the deal. 50% now and 50% upon delivery/acceptance. Deal was too good to be true. And like they say if that's so then it's probably true.
I always search their email address on google to see what else they have for sale, if it looks like a scam. Usually they'll have a few dozen listings of the same thing in several different states. http://www.google.com/search?q=alen332king%40msn.com&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=Ax8&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&filter=0
I ran across a scam along the same as this one a while back on Craigslist, you got to be careful with your money. I did some research and things didn't quite fit so I backed out fast.
Sorry Aman that ****s. There was a jack off with a picture of a beautiful 66 GTO a couple of weeks ago - Black for like 12 Grand ... Advertising in CraigsList in Mt Vernon Wa.... I wrote to inquiry about it... He writes back saying the cars in Idaho and he's in the military and is going to Afghanistan so I'll need to pay Ebay for it. I wrote back and said great I'll have my buddy in Idaho come by and look at it (a lie). That was it - he was gone. I wrote back to let him know when he gets caught ripping people off we should send him to the FRONT LINES of Afghanistan and then maybe the worthless piece of **** would learn the lesson he needs to.
ALWAYS google search the header (or description) on "too good to be true" deals. you'll find multiple listings for the same car in 10 different cities with the exact same listing...
If right I feel bad for that guy at shows and what not if someone reconises it from the scams and he has no ideal.
A guy in the club I belong to had photos (from our club's website) of his '57 Chevy copied into *bay ads on two different occ***ions a few years ago. Other club members would see the ads and ask him if the car was up for sale. The ads ended up getting cancelled before the auctions ran to completion. Never heard if anyone got caught up in the deceit his car was innocently involved in. I guess it's a new spin on selling the Brooklyn Bridge. Scott/Gotta56forme
dont tell me you sent a money order? they tried to pull this **** on me with a harley davidson softail cl***ic. **** them trying to tell me to send them a money order! yea right!
never been scammed but have seen some ads that dont seem right just like whats been said the ad is posteed in one state but the car is in another, damn *******s should be sent to the front lines in the middle east.
Anybody in Atlanta want to look this guy up? Name is Robert Dune, 508 Main St., Atlanta, Ga. 30324. I'd sure like to get my hands on him. Thanks.
