STOLEN!!! 69 camaro red w/black stripes and 55 chevy bel air primered grey

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Booty, Jun 19, 2010.

  1. look in cooke county tennessee around morristown tenn this is where a lot seem to end up my dads mercury was stolen years ago good place to start looking for them

  2. The flyer is a great idea to get the word out. Good place to post those are gas stations, 7-11's or whatever convienience stores are in the surrounding areas, and auto parts stores. I know you're here in the LBC but if you have a good buddy over there or some other family members, ship out a box of 'em andhave them plaster them around. One other thing that is really helpful is to issues a copy of these flyers to the GA state troopers (who run the highways out there I believe) and to as many local PD's and Sheriff's offices in the surrounding areas and even states. I worked auto-theft before and more cars than you can imagine are recovered by patrol cops who are given flyers or "hot sheets" with a list of locally stolen cars. The average copper isn't gonna run the plates on a 69 Camaro or 55 Chevy because usually the people you want to meet in a car stop do not drive high profile cars like this, but give that same patrol copper a 1-time look at the flyer and chances are they will find it somehow. Best of luck and I really hope you get the cars back.

The fact that they broke into the garage like they knew the camaro was in there would lead one to believe that it was someone your dad knew or someone that lives near the house. Maybe even someone that was even watching the house.

This sucks man. People are idiots. Hopefully these bastards get caught and someone has mercy on you and leaves them alone with you for a few huh?

This doesn't sound like a random theft. I'd be looking at people that your dad knew, even casually, in the car community.

My thoughts exactly. Someone who knew your dad or knew the cars. There didn't happen to be anything in the paper or on the net about his passing that noted or showed his cars by chance?
The Georgia Hambers who see this might want to keep on the alert for someone who all the sudden has a nice blower motor for his car that is way beyond the budget for the rest of the car. There just might be a thousand dollar car show up at an event with a 20,000 blown engine in it in the next few weeks. It's rather like the burger flipper at McDonalds showing up with a Rolex, things don't add up may be worth checking out.

This makes me sick to my stomach thinking about this. I'll post around here in Metro Detroit. Hopefully you'll find them. My heart goes out to you and your mom. What a bunch of BS to have to deal with. Has to be somebody local that knew of the cars and your dad and your mom. Or Chip Foose, and he's taking them to Overhaulin' to give them bigger rims and a triple color paint job. (Heh-heh :D ) Fricken people and they're lack of respect, for property and for families.

Jonesboro huh?, That's in Clayton County... not known to be a high crime area like Dekalb County... dude that sucks about the cars, I'll keep an eye open for any info.

  16. I really sorry to hear about all your Dad and the cars. It makes me sick. I hope you get 'em back. The perps should be hung like horse thieves.

BTW, it's common for cars stolen in my area to end up across the border. It's a safe haven for thieves.

Sorry to hear about this. In fact, I'm really getting tired of hearing about the raise of car thefts that seem to be happening. People need to arm themselves and protect their property from the opportunistic thieves that are on the prowl.

Good luck on the safe return of your dad's cool cars.

I am so sorry to hear you lost your dad, as well the cars have being snatched away. I've posted the info on SRM to help spread the word. Here's a tip from one of the members that I thought was a good one. Give the flyers to the local airport pilots too.

The world is sure full of #@#$%.

sorry about your loss, of your father.
and for someone to pull this after a loss in the family like that, is the lowest.

sounds like a "hook up"..someone knew the situation and the cars.

    jmo

put as much pressure as you can on the local cops to keep on the job, check any ports close by, and keep it under your hat when talking to people who might have known your dad, maybe one might slip and say something they shouldnt know.

    any shady people hangin around?
