I am building a 32 truck for my dad, while I like the deuce trucks a Lafayette coupe is something I've never seen in person. You'll likely never park next to a Lafayette at a show and the coupe will be more comfortable as a long distance cruiser.

Absolutely, sell the Lafayette! Is that is what is in your avatar? I'll be right over to get it off your hands so's you can...yawn...focus on the ford pickup build.
I'd say the lafayette is a keeper.

The Lafayette was named after the American Revolution general from France. American race car driver Eddie Rickenbacker became the Top Ace in WWI flying in the Lafayette Escadrille, he later owned the INDY 500 race track. Tell me more about the pickup.

Keep the Lafayette!! You'd never see another one or be able to replace it!
Besides......I haven't been up there to see it yet!

How much is the truck and what is it worth? If you can get a screaming deal on the truck, buy both.

I say, buy the truck....why? Because I like them and don't care for LaFayettes.

pickups make good hotrods. replacing a car that is in good shape and apparently fairly complete (like the one in your avatar) would be tough, not to mention it being a lafayette. try like heck to swing them both, but if it has to be one or the other i vote for the lafayette also. the truck would have to be something really special or what you've always really wanted.

  17. According to your profile, you already have a '40 Ford pickup, THE pickup of all time in many folks minds. Unless you are just crazy for coco-trucks, the Coupe sounds very cool. By the same token, I don't have to be happy about your projects, you do............

    Make yourself happy.

My choice would be to go for the 33 pickup.

Boring look-alike hot rod pick-up truck (that every rod run has one or four of)...or cool orphan coop...??? IMHO that's a no-brainer...I never park next to a similar car when I take my orphan '40 Stude to a rod run or show...it's a stand-out all the time...

agreed.... BOTH! especially since they are appreciating in value. as long as you don't pay too much, you can't lose.

I really like the ford trucks, but I also would have to say this is a no brainer. Keep your coupe.

I think many have 2 projects on the go, if doable I would certainly try and keep them both. If it comes down to a decision then there is only one choice, the coupe hands down.

thinking the answer is pretty clear at this point....Lafayette stays....for 7500. the pickup will probably not happen...and I made a slight mistake....It's a 35--- 1/2 ton ford truck ...type-0 on my part...thanks, guys:cool:
