brought a 54 chevy home saturday

    [/ATTACH]i jus bought this 54 chevy sat. bout a 150 miles from my house. supposedly has 70,000 original miles.It's a solid car,good driver but floor pans are gone. I'm planning on lowering it. does anybody know the best cheap and easy way to do this? i would like to drop it as much as possible without buying to many parts. I am also looking for belair trim.

    cut the fromt coils and pull some leaves. No cost

    Nice find. I dropped my 54 about 3 1/2" by cutting the front coils 1 1/2 turns and 3" lowering blocks out back. It still drives nice and the axle only hits the frame occationaly with p***engers in the back. I was told 1 1/2 coils is as far as you can cut the coils practicly. Stepping the lower control arms is also an option for more drop. You should join the Rockstars with Tourqewrenches social club on here. Theres lots of tech info there for these cars.

    any leads on the belair trim? I'm thinking its gonna be hard to find.

  7. nice buy.cut the coils as said before and on the rear you can take out leafs and put them on top of the stack and they will act as a lowerind block.no money out of pocket

    I bet you can find some trim at that swap meet you have there in Chickasha. Looks like a nice '54!
