When are people going to learn to quit giving their money away .? You pay for something when you get it when it comes to that much money,The only way you are going to get your equipment is to go and get it ,thats if you have a real address as to where its at,Where in Florida does this guy live?Call the dude and tell him you are coming to get it .How did you pay this guy?

  2. No offense - but what is your Dad doing about this
From every angle - this is his problem

If he has not learned by now not to pay in full for something
in advance from a total stranger in another state .....

This is a hard lesson he needs to learn

    two words, District Attorney

Go talk to them, see what they have to say. Hope it wasn't a "cash and a handshake deal". Always better if you have a canceled check or some other paper trail.

This not only smacks of internet fraud but of interstate which could be a federal issue. Get the law on your side.

Another option would be if your local TV station has a consumer watch type reporter let them know. He may not like a mobile news unit showing up at his house with cameras.

Just a couple of ideas, good luck.

If I read this right, the seller was actually local to you in Jersey, correct?
If so, try to find out where the equipment is in Florida and make arrangements to have it picked up by somebody here so that you can actually confirm the stuff exists. I am sure with all of the generosty here on the H.A.M.B. finding help won't be a problem. The **** about the baseball bats and other stuff only makes ya feel better til you go to jail to become bubbas *****. Once the equip is verified to exist and collected up go get it yourself. It makes no sense to spend the time and money to sue the guy to collect nothing afterward. Last time I went to the grocery store I couldn't pay for grocery's with a court judgement. If this doesn't sound within reason, kiss it all goodbye and move on.
